Now in our sixth summer, the Punta Gorda Club's Summer Junior Camp combines tennis and fitness in a fun, active and safe environment. The program is centered
on learning and improving tennis performance. It incorporates kickboxing, pace circuits
(alternating aerobic and resistance exercises), strength/functional training, yoga, jump rope, basketball, and other professionally supervised sport activities.
The 2007 Punta Gorda Club Summer Camp
Our Offerings:
- 8 hours of top-notch tennis instruction, 4 hours of basketball fundamentals
- Scheduled “Freezie Pop” breaks with “water gun” cooling off periods
- Supervised lunch (please provide lunch Mon-Wed)
- Complimentary fresh, hot cheese or pepperoni pizza with fruit punch on Thursdays
- Beginners enjoy arts and crafts, Yoga, indoor group exercise activities, and advanced
players stay outside for structured drills and matches
- Constant adult supervision at all times
Our checklist for you:
- Please provide your child with lunch Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
- Complimentary Pizza Day on Thursday
- Please provide sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, tennis shoes, towel, water bottle for your child
- Arrive at 10:25 am, and pick-up promptly at 3:00pm (you’ll need ID to pick up your child)
- Camp will be cancelled if raining before start of camp. Continues if in the afternoon. Call
the Club at 505-1055 to verify the weather conditions

- Fundamentals of tennis strokes, drills, games for all
- Techniques and tactics for advanced players
- Rules, scoring, etiquette
- Flexibility, agility, speed, balance, coordination
- Respect, teamwork, and new friendships!
